Masonry buildings are oldest and traditional building types. Because of vertical loads and horizontal loads such as earthquake transported by walls masonry buildings quite economical compared to concrete and steel buildings. Masonry elements are less ductile than steel or concrete elements so their seismic energy absorption capacity is lower. For example , seismic forces can be reduced with R=8 coefficient , but Project made with high ductility level can act like building with normal ductility level ( R=4) due to mergence and application errors. And that's makes building designed with 100 ton horizontal force to get 200 tons load. Masonry buildings earthquake force reduced by a R=2 factor. The ductility and strength of building can be increased with vertical bond beams in the buildings corner or wall intersections.

Masonry buildings are very sensitive to seismic forces , because of that wall elements with high or low seismic ( shear) strength aganist the effects of vertical load , wall neighboring windows with low height which cause short colomn effect makes them get a lot of seismic force which requires unique calculations.

Modeling done with StatiCAD also have buildings static calculations according to earthquake regulations with slab calculations, which make sure building also resistance aganist earthquake. Buildings with insufficient components shown in graphical interface with different color according to failure status..

Horizontal bond beams and loads transfer from upper floors to lower floor walls done in sensetive manner. Seismic loads which effects floors automatically determined according to building floor weight. Shear stress safety calculated separately for each wall depending on the vertical load.

AI-Assisted Design

StatiCAD speeds up the engineer's workflow with an AI assistant embedded in the structural modeling process. When the user expresses what they want to do in natural language - by typing or by speaking through the microphone - the assistant creates elements such as walls, columns, beams and slabs, applies storey and regulation settings, triggers the analysis and summarizes the results. This shortens repetitive modeling steps so the engineer can focus on design decisions.

The assistant can also evaluate files and images, works multilingually (it replies in the interface language), and for advanced use it enables terminal automation with tools such as Claude Code/Codex. The AI assistant is positioned as a helper, on the principle that the resulting model and results are reviewed by the responsible engineer, and it is available in the Hybrid and Ultimate versions.
BIM/IFC Interoperability

Modern building projects require architectural, structural and other disciplines to work on a shared model. StatiCAD integrates into this BIM workflow by importing and exporting with the IFC (IFC2x3, Coordination View 2.0) standard. You can export your project to IFC in one step and share it with tools such as Revit, ArchiCAD, Tekla, Allplan or SAP2000, and import data coming from those tools or from SAP2000 structural analysis models into StatiCAD.

On import, frame members are converted to columns and beams, and surface members to walls, slabs and shell (finite element) slabs; unit (m/cm) and character differences are handled automatically in the background. This makes data exchange between the architectural model and the structural model easier in your masonry and mixed projects. The BIM/IFC features are available in the Hybrid and Ultimate versions (in the demo, import is enabled and export is disabled).
Timber (Wood) Structures

In StatiCAD, timber, masonry and reinforced-concrete elements can be solved together in a single project and a single data file, which gives the program unique flexibility. Timber buildings are designed in line with TBDY2018 and the Turkish Timber Buildings Design Code (ABTHYE, 2024) - not only a foreign code - so results comply with national regulations.

Unlike many foreign timber programs that only check the sheathing-to-frame fasteners, StatiCAD performs full per-member checks (including weak-axis, buckling and torsion) for every stud and bar inside a timber shear wall. This prevents overly slender, unsafe designs and meaningfully improves the building's service and seismic performance.
